The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every single snap of each NFL game 10,000 to come up with some of the most accurate projections available. In a straight-up, pick'em format, this proprietary computer model went 176-80 last season and beat over 95 percent of CBS Office Pool players in 2016 and 2017. It also performed better than 98 percent of experts tracked by NFLPickWatch.com during that span. Additionally, it went 48-34 on A-rated picks against the spread last season, and $100 bettors who followed it the past two seasons are up nearly $4,000.
Now it has simulated every snap of Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season, taking into account factors such as injuries, matchups and player history, and the results are in.
White White Vans Authentic White Authentic Vans True True Vans White Among the more notable games, the computer loves the New England Patriots to win and cover the 6.5-point spread at home against the Houston Texans in a 29-20 final. The 49 combined points falls short of the Vegas Over-Under of 51 in 57 percent of simulations.
Deshaun Watson puts up strong numbers in his return from a torn ACL, throwing for 302 yards, running for 39 yards and accounting for two total touchdowns. But Tom Brady spreads the ball around to Rob Gronkowski (72 yards), Chris Hogan (56) and Phillip Dorsett (40) and leads the Patriots to the win.
It’s also calling big debut for Kirk Cousins in Minnesota, saying the Vikings win straight-up against San Francisco in 63 percent of simulations and cover the 5.5-point spread as Cousins passes for almost 250 yards and two touchdowns.
And Jon Gruden gets off to a slow start in Oakland, falling 29-21 to the Rams as Todd Gurley goes for almost 150 yards of total offense in a victory for Los Angeles that easily covers the three-point spread.
Simulations run every 15 minutes and always take the latest injury and roster moves into account.
